I know at least some of you made it to the River Festival yesterday. I didn't get to see all of the acts, as I had two gigs myself on seperate sound stages.
The first was with rockers Jokin' Apart on the static sound stage under the roundabout, the second was the headlining slot with the Blues Brothers' Little Brother on the floating stage near the firework display.
Was great to see so many people out and about and enjoying live music. It's a slick and well organised event these days, if I was pushed to critique I'd ask for more and better access for band members vehicles. I know space (and particulary parking space) will always be at a premium for town center gigs such as this, but I can't help feeling that Maidstone Borough Council could have dug a little deeper and made it easier for the people providing the (free) entertainment.
Still, nit-picking asside it was a great event. Keep your eyes peeled on the official website for photos and reviews to come!
